BattleForge, been developed by EA is an online-focused fantasy real-time strategy game where the players gather their own army with collectible trading cards.
BattleForge is designed to take over the Real-time Strategy world through the combination of strategic cooperative battles, the community of MMO games and trading card gameplay. The game story begins with the mortals who are caught in a clash between insane gods and ancient giants. The only option is to gather an army. Using the forces of Fire, Frost, Nature and Shadow a mysterious Forge which makes legends come to life, is their single option to create armies powerful enough to overcome the mighty enemies.
Initially the game will feature 200 different playing cards, 50 for each of the four elemental factions (Fire, Frost, Nature and Shadow), which in turn are divided into units, spells and buildings. Players can control an army of fantasy creatures, ranging in size from tiny to gargantuan, and undertake missions, which are resolved through real-time battles with standard point-and-click controls and an excellent drag-and-drop control group interface. An advantage of this game is that there is no restriction on what cards can be used to make up the deck, i.e. any combination is possible.
Battleforge has been created to focus on multiplayer and even the single player missions offered have to be played in the online environment. There is also a PVP area where one player can take on another human player. Exciting campaigns and missions fill the world of BattleForge that gains a huge welcome in the world of real-time strategy games.
