Final Fantasy XIII is a role-playing game developed by Square Enix. This game is set in a high-tech world that features futuristic elements.
Final Fantasy XIII begins in the shell-like city of Cocoon, which is highly influenced by Fal'cie -- divine-like beings created from crystals residing inside them. There is a group of people named as l'Cie, who are marked by the Fal’cie for greater purposes. However, there is an opposite force named as the Pulse, which loiters below the Cocoon. Both Cocoon and Pulse are maintained by their own Fal’cie.
Soon, the terms between Cocoon and Pulse become worse as they attack each other. On one side, the harshness of Pulse has strange effects on people and on the other side, Snow leads the Team Nora -- a resistance group against Cocoon who is in a vain attempt to stop the purging of civilians. Similarly, Cocoon has its mighty army -- PSICOM, mainly formed to exile anyone who has been influenced by Pulse.
So, this game is all about the clash between two mighty forces and there is a main heroine character named Lightning, a former soldier of the Cocoon military who fights her way past PSICOM soldiers to find Pulse's Fal’cie with the help of Sazh -- a well-known man for Lightning. She wields a combination of a gun and a sword and can able to handle gravity with a device on her thumb. In this game, players will embark on a journey through the world of Cocoon and Pulse, encountering alongside a diverse group of allies. The Final Fantasy XIII game is expected to get released by the fourth quarter of 2009.
