EA Sports Grand Slam Tennis (Wii) - An Enhanced Level in the Tennis Games

EA bangs into the tennis arena with Grand Slam Tennis for the Wii, a much needed improvement that finally takes full advantage of the Wii’s amazing new Wii Motion Plus accessory.

This game is rich with content and game modes for any level player from novice user to hard-core tennis experts. This game features an all-star cast of past and present players, and with Wimbledon's inclusion, it's the first time we have seen all four Grand Slam tournaments together like the Australian Open, French Open, Wimbledon, and the US Open, preceded by a few practice matches. Current favorites Nadal, Federer and Murray are all here, as are the likes of the Williams sisters, and they're joined by retired greats such as McEnroe, Henin and Sampras.

Grand Slam's single-player gameplay is split among a Grand Slam Career mode, exhibition matches, and party games. There is no much graphics, since the entire game is presented in an almost cartoon-like style, with players having extra-ordinary features while retaining, just makes them recognizable. There is also an exhibition match with a low-skilled player, a match against a tennis legend, and a skill challenge, which is a doubles match based on the Tennis Party games.

There is even online multiplayer option available, which seems to work pretty well and includes interesting things like national leader boards, singles and doubles top one hundreds and a solid My-Stats page to keep track of the players’ progress. Moreover this game features a highly responsive system that detects a variety of shots. In order to win each Grand Slam, gamers must conquer the various challenges to accumulate more skills for their created player.
